THE CHALLENGE

Our client, a rapidly growing Series B fintech startup, required a Vice President of Marketing/Chief Marketing Officer to spearhead its strategy and vision for top-line growth. The company had experienced a remarkable 550% year-over-year revenue growth driven by referrals and organic growth. With plans for significant expansion, the new VP of Marketing needed to build the marketing organization from the ground up, implement scalable processes, and drive demand generation to achieve ambitious revenue targets.

Chess pieces on a checkered board.

THE STRATEGY

To meet this challenge, we conducted a nationwide search focused on identifying leaders with proven success in scaling startup organizations, particularly those at the critical inflection point of achieving more than $10M ARR revenue. Given the competitive market for top-tier talent, we worked to ensure that our client's value proposition was compelling and clear. Our deep understanding of the founders' vision and personalities was crucial, as they had been the primary salespeople and marketers for the company.

We targeted candidates with extensive experience in demand generation, performance marketing, and building high-performing marketing teams. The ideal candidate needed to be entrepreneurial, revenue-oriented, and capable of operating both strategically and at an execution level. Additionally, the candidate needed to have a proven track record of working closely with sales to align revenue-generating efforts.
